Expert neurological care

At MountainStar Healthcare, we understand that chronic neurological disorders can be difficult to live with. This is why our care teams take the time to understand each patient's unique situation when creating a treatment plan. Our specialists work one-on-one with each patient to determine the best option, in addition to providing continued support throughout their recovery. From non-invasive treatments to advanced neurosurgery, our goal is to help patient's heal.

Advanced neurosurgery

We offer access to expert neurosurgeons who blend advanced science, skill and training to ensure our patients have the best possible chances for a successfully recovery. Additionally, our doctors use state-of-the-art surgical navigation systems that allow them to precisely track their surgical instruments in relation to the patient in real time. The system uses a high-resolution widescreen monitor that gives surgeons a vivid view of navigation images. Because of the minimally invasive nature of this neurosurgical technology, patients typically experience quicker recoveries.

Spinal fusion surgery

A spinal fusion is a common type of neurological procedure focused on spine care. During a spinal fusion, a neurosurgeon fuses together some of the bones of your spine. This procedure helps reduce pain and stabilize the spine. Spinal fusions may be performed on the neck (cervical fusion) or on the lower back (lumbar fusion).

St. Mark’s Hospital—a part of the MountainStar Healthcare network—was the first community hospital worldwide and the second hospital worldwide to offer a special robotic surgery platform for spinal fusions.

Comprehensive stroke care

In addition to treating acute and chronic neurological disorders, we also offer comprehensive care for stroke (cerebrovascular accident), sometimes referred to as a brain attack. Our hospitals' emergency rooms (ERs) are staffed 24/7 with specialists highly trained to evaluate and treat patients with stroke symptoms.
