“If I hadn’t done this I wouldn’t be here today. I know so.”

After two mild heart attacks and three stents, Max’s doctor recommended 6-8 weeks of cardiac rehab to help him recover. That was 16 years ago and he’s been coming to Lakeview Cardiac Rehab ever since.

Today, Max credits the cardiac rehab program for helping him live a long and healthy life in his golden years and has provided him with lifelong friendships.

“It really gets the kinks out,” Max said. “The gals here are great and I’ve met so many neat friends here over the years. Some like BYU, or Utah State, some University of Utah, but we sit here and have that interaction to help the time pass.”

In his retirement Max makes hiking sticks for Eagle Scouts with a compass in the top and sells them at the Bountiful Farmers Market. He’s made them for 221 Eagle Scouts and he remembers every single one of them!
