Volunteer process
Volunteer applicants must be 16 years old or older. At this time, we do not offer volunteer hours for community service or high school credit recovery.
- Commitment: Volunteer for at least one shift per week. Because of the amount of orientation and training involved, we request a minimum 80-hour commitment (approximately 6 months) from our new volunteers. Regular attendance is essential.
- Application: If interested, please complete the form below, and we will reach out with an application. Once you have completed the application, please call (801) 299-2561 or email the application.
- Background check: Lakeview Hospital requires a background check for all prospective volunteers. The background check must clear before moving forward in the volunteering process (may take five to nine days).
- General health review: Each new volunteer must provide current vaccination information, complete one tuberculosis (TB) test, and a drug screening. Annual flu vaccinations are required for all volunteers.
- Orientation to volunteer services: Orientation provides more volunteer information and an introduction to the hospital. It takes approximately one hour.
- Shifts: Volunteer shifts are typically two to three hours, once or twice a week.
