Physical therapy 400 miles from home
After breaking both femurs on vacation in Idaho, Lynnette credits her physical therapy with helping her heal.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, after seeing this image, it only takes a few words to understand that Lynnette was in some intense pain.
After a fall while on vacation in Idaho, Lynnette broke both of her femurs. She had two rods that had to be implanted to connect the femurs into her hips and was in the hospital there for eight days.
She then went to a rehab facility, and upon being released was asked if she wanted to continue her treatment at home or at a physical therapy clinic. She chose the latter.
"I live in St. George, but my daughter was taking care of me in Tremonton. She found four physical therapists, and we decided on Perry Crawford," Lynnette says.
During Lynnette's first visit, she says Perry told her he'd have her off of her walker in three weeks. "I didn't believe him," Lynnette says.
Lynnette visited Perry three times per week for a month, and, sure enough she is without her walker and her cane. "Perry was so kind. You know he cares. He is very watchful and attentive. If you just need that little extra help, you know he's there."
Perry also credits Lynnette's determination with her ability to recover so well. "She worked hard in therapy and at home, but she was very apprehensive and lacked confidence at the start," Perry said. "She was able to gain confidence during therapy with the help of our staff and myself to do things she didn’t think she could. I believe she influenced us as much as we influenced her, and it was awesome to see her progress."
