The best place we've received care
Having more than 40 surgeries between them, Amy & Ben both say that Brigham City Community Hospital is the best place they've received care.
Ben and Amy are no stranger to hospitals. Amy has had more than 25 surgeries, and Ben's not far behind with 16. Add ER visits on top of that, and you could say they are basically honorary medical professionals.
This is why when they both say that Brigham City Community Hospital is the best place they've received care, it means something.
"Here, there is a large personal side to patient care," Ben says. "I've been in some really nice hospitals with some fancy hotel-like features, but that doesn't compensate for quality compassionate care. And that type of care is what patients get at Brigham City Community Hospital."
"The best experience I've ever had at a hospital."
Besides emergency visits, all of Amy's hospital trips have been for orthopedic surgeries, dating back to 1979 in California. Two of those have been total knee replacements, with the most recent one done at Brigham City Community Hospital.
"It was the best experience I've ever had, from pre-op to discharge," Amy says. "I felt like I was cared for like I was a family member, not a number. We both tell everyone to consider Brigham Community Hospital for their emergency and surgical needs.”
But it hasn't been only the care while in the hospital that's impressed Amy and Ben; it's also the follow-up care after.
"The follow-up care here is amazing," Amy says. "After one of Ben's visits, got a call 3-4 times within a week or so to see if he had questions and how he was feeling. The care, the explanation of what's happening, the consideration — compared to other places, this is the best hospital we've had care in."
Aside from surgeries, they've both been treated in the Brigham City Community Hospital emergency room, which sees the largest number of patients each year of any department within the hospital.
One of those visits was following a heart procedure Ben had at a different hospital. Ben was having chest pains, shortness of breath, and had high blood pressure and fluid around his lungs.
"They got me back to see a doctor immediately. That visit in the ER was, without a doubt, the best experience I've ever had at a hospital."
"Even the food's good!" Amy says with a smile.
