“Deep Dives” Heal Troublesome Wounds
Do you or a loved one have a severe wound or a chronic wound that has not healed over time? Is it related to ulcers caused by an inadequate blood supply, a major injury or diabetes?
If so, you may be interested to know that two MountainStar hospitals are among only four in Utah that provide advanced hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This treatment involves the delivery of 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized chamber to patients with certain injuries or medical conditions. Similar chambers are used to help scuba divers suffering from the bends, aka decompression sickness.
Hyperbaric chamber treatment can be lifesaving for people with carbon monoxide poisoning. If a faulty furnace or other heat source unexpectedly puts you or your family in danger, hyperbaric treatment is available within the MountainStar network and at other Utah hospitals.
Of course, the best way to avoid this too-often tragic condition is to install a low-cost carbon monoxide detector in your home!
