Are you or a loved one struggling to heal a wound? Whether the cause is diabetes or arterial and venous ulcers, there are treatment options available. Here at St. Mark's Hospital, we treat non-healing wounds at our new Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic on-campus!
When a wound does not receive the appropriate amount of oxygen, the cells are not able to regenerate quickly enough, which also increases the risk of infection. One treatment option is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). It involves the delivery of pure oxygen into pressurized chambers in order to help wounds heal safely and quickly, and with less scarring. The goal? Help patients heal difficult wounds and get them back to their normal lifestyle.
FOX 13 News toured our new clinic and interviewed Wound Care Center Medical Director, Dr. William Tettelbach. Watch the full coverage on the FOX 13 website.
