Cache Valley Hospital has recently been recognized nationally as a Top General Hospital by The Leapfrog Group—a national nonprofit watchdog organization.
According to The Leapfrog Group, the highest performing hospitals on it’s list are recognized annually with the prestigious Leapfrog Top Hospital award. Of the 120 Top Hospitals recognized, Cache Valley Hospital was the only facility recognized in the state of Utah as a Top Hospital.
“Each day our staff and physicians work to provide the best care to every patient that we see,” said Daren Wells, CEO at Cache Valley Hospital. “This recognition from The Leapfrog Group underscores our commitment to patient safety and quality. It’s great to be recognized nationally for excellence in the work we do every day for the people of Cache Valley.”
Research indicates Top Hospitals have better systems in place to prevent medication errors, higher quality on maternity care and lower infection rates, among other laudable qualities.
“It takes leadership, teamwork and absolute dedication to patients, to achieve this award,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.
The award is not given to a set number of hospitals, but rather, to all teaching, general, rural, and children’s hospitals that meet the high standards defined in each year’s Top Hospital Methodology.
Of the 120 Top Hospitals recognized, 10 were Top Children's Hospitals, 37 were Top General Hospitals, 55 were Top Teaching Hospitals and 18 were Top Rural Hospitals.
