Salt Lake City, UT — Five of the nation’s top 100 hospitals belong to Utah’s MountainStar Healthcare network, according to an annual list published by Fortune in partnership with PINC AI.

The 2024 Fortune/PINC AI 100 Top Hospitals lists recognizes the highest-quality performers and promoted continuous improvement in healthcare. Utah’s Ogden Regional Medical Center and Timpanogos Regional Hospital (Orem) ranked among the 20 top medium hospitals, while Lakeview Hospital (Bountiful), Lone Peak Hospital (Draper) and Brigham City Community Hospital were named among the 20 top small community hospitals.

“Recognition like this is a reflection on our nearly 7,000 Utah colleagues and their commitment to delivering high-quality care to the communities we serve,” said Evan Ray, president of MountainStar Healthcare. “We’re proud of what this latest award says to the nearly 3 million people living along the Wasatch Front, who have so many of the nation’s top hospitals within minutes from home, ready to care for them and their loved ones.”

MountainStar Healthcare is a comprehensive network of care sites from Logan to Payson that served more than a million patient interactions last year. MountainStar and its sister HCA Healthcare facilities in Alaska and Idaho comprise the Mountain Division, which was named one of the 15 Top Health Systems by Fortune and PINC AI in late 2023. In all, 36 of the 100 Top Hospitals are part of HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading providers of health services.

The recognition is based on an analysis of Medicare data that reflect measures of clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health.

Ogden Regional Medical Center, Timpanogos Regional Hospital and Lakeview Hospital also received the Everest Award, given to facilities that, in addition to securing the Top 100 rank, have also achieved top rates of improvement over a 5-year period.
