At Brigham City Community Hospital, we understand the importance of a good night's rest. When we don't get enough sleep, we can feel anxious, irritable and even experience health complications if the problem persists for a long period of time.

If you believe you are experiencing a sleep disorder, our sleep specialists are here to help determine the cause of your sleep disruption. We use advanced technology during an overnight sleep study to accurately diagnose and treat a variety of sleep disorders.

Diagnosing a sleep disorder

In order to accurately diagnosis a sleep disorder, patients will be invited to stay at our state-of-the-art sleep center. Tucked away in a quiet part of the hospital, we have beautifully decorated, home-like rooms with queen-sized beds, recliners and flat screen televisions. Our goal is to ensure you are as relaxed as possible during your stay.

During the sleep study, technicians will attach small sensors to your body before you fall asleep.

These sensors are used to record and monitor:

  • Breathing
  • Brain wave activity
  • Muscle activity
  • Heart rate and rhythms
  • Oxygen levels

The doctors and technicians use this information to help determine the cause of your sleep condition and create an individualized treatment plan to help you get a good night's rest.
