Medical diagnostic services we offer
Our lab services are delivered by compassionate, skilled lab professionals who specialize in a range of diagnostic tests, from blood counts to vital organs function to infectious diseases.
- Basic metabolic panel – Measures your blood sugar and several other natural ions and proteins to test for diabetes and assess kidney function
- Complete blood count – Provides your doctor with vital information about red and white blood cell counts, as well as platelet levels in your blood
- Comprehensive metabolic panel – Combines both the hepatic and basic metabolic panels to inform your doctor of your liver and kidney health
- Electrolyte panel – Allows your doctor to tell if the natural ions found in your blood are appropriately balanced
- Coagulation testing – Includes a full spectrum of blood clot testing, as well as tests to monitor blood thinner medications
- Hepatic function panel – Illustrates how well your liver is functioning
- Immunohematology testing – Done through our blood bank, which is a full-service transfusion laboratory offering blood-type identification, antibody screenings and antibody identification
- Lipid panel – Measures triglyceride and cholesterol levels, including both "good" cholesterol (HDL) and "bad" cholesterol (LDL), which allows your doctor to determine your risk for preventable heart attacks and cerebrovascular accidents (strokes)
- Thyroid–stimulating hormone (TSH) testing – Measures TSH, an essential hormone in controlling thyroid gland function. Abnormally high or low levels of TSH can be a sign of thyroid disease
Additionally, we are able to work with sister MountainStar Healthcare facilities and other contracted labs to order other, less common lab services.
Walk–in laboratory collections
We are able to accept walk-in collections in our hospital, just off the intersection of 1100 South and Main Street in Brigham City. Just enter the main hospital doors and our team will direct you to the lab reception desk, where a team of trained phlebotomy specialists will be ready to collect your samples. Please talk to us concerning your individual needs and we’ll do our best to help you.
Please bring your ID and insurance information, as well as a lab order from your physician. Please follow any instructions given by your provider, such as fasting, to ensure you obtain accurate test results. If you do not have a lab order, you can request a copy from your physician’s office.
If you need to drop off a specimen for testing, you will also need to be registered and receive an identification wristband as described above. This ensures appropriate billing, ensures your results are sent to the appropriate destinations and allows us to identify your specimen appropriately.
Please ensure that your specimen container is labeled with:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Date and time of collection (include AM or PM)
- Any additional information requested by the lab order or physician
Laboratory hours of operation
Our laboratory is open Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm.
If you arrive between 4:00pm and 5:00pm, you need your printed lab orders from your physician in-hand to give to the registration team. This requirement is due to the difficulty to reach physician offices after 4:00pm to request the lab order or research the fax records.
If you arrive after 4:00pm and do not have a lab order in-hand, you will be asked to return when our lab receptionist is available (7:30am to 4:00pm).
Helping us to better serve you
You may be contacted a few days after your visit to participate in an optional survey. If you opt to participate, please be specific in your comments, indicating if your experience was with the lab or any other department of the hospital, so your feedback can be shared with the appropriate team. We read and review these comments and use them to give employee recognition, provide context for employee improvement and find additional ways to better serve you and the community.
If you would like to directly share a positive or negative experience, you can email our lab manager or call (435) 734-9471.
Your laboratory results

Patients can find their lab results and other details about their health records and care experience by accessing the MyHealthOne website or downloading the MyHealthOne smartphone app from Apple or Google Play.
Patients may also obtain a copy of their results by filling out a "Release of Information" form at the lab reception desk Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. A valid ID will be required to release results. We are also able to provide results directly to your primary care provider, either via fax or, in some cases, via the provider’s electronic medical records system.
Most testing done in our laboratory takes only a few hours or a day to process. Other less common tests ordered by your physician may require us to work with a contracted lab or sister MountainStar Healthcare facility, and those test results may take days or weeks to return, depending on the complexity and availability of the test.
